Gypsum, with the chemical formula Caso4 · 2H2O, has high water soluble properties, so that it can affect the process of washing other minerals from the soil. Meanwhile, Kaolinite, which is the main clay mineral in the soil, has a structure that contributes to the durability of the soil to erosion and its defense ability to humidity. The dominance of kaolinites in both pedons shows that the land in Tanjung Morawa District has a tendency to maintain the structure and humidity, which is very influential on soil fertility and plant growth capabilities.
