Introduction

The study used a random design with five treatments, four replications, and each test consisting of five chicks. The treatments included:

U0: Feed without palm oil palm flour, pHokhpand commercial feed
U1: Feed with 5% Fermented Palm Oil Palm Flour
U2: Feed with 10% Fermented Palm Oil Palm Flour
U3: Feed with 15% Fermented palm oil umbut flour
U4: Feed with 20% of fermented palm oil umbut flour

The observed parameters included feed consumption, daily weight gain (ADG), and feed conversion ratio (FCR).

Results

The results of this study showed that the use of palm oil palm flour at 5% to 20% has a significant effect on feed consumption and broiler chicken performance. The consumption of broiler chicken feed given feed with palm oil palm flour fermented significantly lower than the control group (U0). Similarly, ADG, which shows a significant decrease in groups that are given fermented palm oil umbut flour. However, FCR did not show significant differences between treatment groups, indicating that even though the consumption of feed and ADG decreases, broiler chickens are still able to use feed efficiently.

Discussion

The results of this study indicate that fermented palm oil umbut flour can be used as a broiler chicken feed ingredient up to 20% level. However, it is essential to note that although the use of fermented palm oil umbut flour can reduce feed costs, further research needs to be done to optimize the use of palm oil palm flour in the ration of broiler chicken.
