Pulmonary tuberculosis is a direct infectious infection caused by the bacterium Mycobacterium tuberculosis. Transmission of this disease occurs through the air, especially when a patient is infected with coughing, so that sparks that contain germs can be inhaled by others. Lung health problems, including tuberculosis, are still major issues in Indonesia, which in 2014 was recorded as the third largest country in the number of people with tuberculosis after India. This study aims to identify the relationship between individual characteristics (such as age, gender, income, and nutritional status) as well as home environmental sanitation (which includes floors, ventilation, lighting, residential density, and humidity) with the incidence of pulmonary tuberculosis in the work area of the Sumbul Puskesmas Dairi Regency in 2017. The study uses an analytic design with a control case approach, involving 90 samples consisting of 45 cases of pulmonary tuberculosis sufferers and 45 uninfected controls. Data was collected through interviews using questionnaires, observations, and direct measurements. Data analysis was carried out using the Chi-Square test with a confidence level of 95%.
