Introduction

The quality of nursing academy graduates is a crucial factor in producing professional and competent nurses. Unfortunately, the quality of nursing academy graduates in Indonesia is still relatively low, as seen from the difficulties of Indonesian nurses in competing in the international arena. One of the factors that contribute to this issue is the quality of educational institutions, which plays a significant role in shaping the quality of graduates. This research aims to analyze the role of educational institutional resources on the quality of private nursing academy graduates in Medan City in 2008.

The quality of nursing academy graduates is a critical factor in the healthcare industry. Nursing academy graduates are expected to possess the necessary knowledge, skills, and attitudes to provide quality care to patients. However, the quality of nursing academy graduates in Indonesia is still a concern. A total of 89 students from 808 students at the end of the 2007/2008 school year were chosen proportionally and interviewed to gather information about student knowledge, skills, and attitudes. The data analysis was carried out using the Kruskal-Wallis test and Mann-Whitney U test.

Results

The results of this study showed that educational institutional resources, including permanent human resources, facilities, infrastructure, curriculum, financing, and management, play an important role in influencing the quality of graduates. The existence of adequate and effective resources can encourage improvement in the quality of graduates. The results also showed that the quality of educational institutional resources is closely related to the quality of graduates.
