Introduction

In the field of orthodontics, labio-lingual movements in the anterior teeth play a crucial role in improving the sagittal relationship between the maxillary and mandibular arch. Methodology

In this study, 135 lateral cephalometry photos were made samples, which were divided into three groups based on dental inclination: normal, proclination, and retroclination. To determine the dental inclination of the maxillary central incisors in the labio-lingual direction, an angle is used between the maxillary central incisors and the sella-nasion line (SN plane).

The thickness of the alveolar and lingual bone is measured by pulling a perpendicular line to the tooth axis, which is done linearly every 1/10 level along the roots, from the cemento-enamel junction to the apical root of the central incisors. The Kruskal-Wallis test is then used to analyze the relationship between inclination and alveolar bone thickness.

Results and Discussion

The results showed a significant difference in the thickness of the alveolar labial and lingual bone based on dental inclination (p <0.005). This shows that dental inclination can affect the thickness of the supporting tissue around it.

Specifically, the tooth of the maxillary central incisors in the retroclination position tends to have thinner alveolar bone support, especially in the apical area.
