Introduction

Pulmonary tuberculosis (pulmonary TB) is a serious health problem that affects millions of people worldwide, including in Indonesia. However, the effectiveness of PMOs in supporting patients can be compromised by their own characteristics, such as age, education level, and knowledge of pulmonary TB. This study aims to investigate the influence of PMO characteristics on the success of pulmonary TB treatment at the Sei Agul Health Center.

Methodology

This study employed an explanatory research survey method, involving all PMOs of lung TB sufferers in the Sei Agul Puskesmas working area as the population and sample, totaling 57 people. The study used multiple regression analysis to examine the relationship between PMO characteristics and the success of pulmonary TB treatment.

The results of the multiple regression analysis revealed a significant influence between PMO characteristics and the success of pulmonary TB treatment. Specifically:

Discussion

The results of this study indicate that PMO characteristics, particularly age, education level, and knowledge of pulmonary TB, play a crucial role in supporting the success of pulmonary TB treatment. In contrast, PMO gender and work experience had no significant influence on treatment success. These findings suggest that improving the quality and role of PMOs can contribute to better treatment outcomes.
