Measurement of protein content and mRNA expression of IL-6, GFAP, BDNF, Gelsolin, GLUN3A, and Calmodulin-2 are carried out in the fetus born prematurely and has been given piracetam on the 19th day of pregnancy. The level of protein and expression of mRNA is analyzed using Enzyme Linked Immunosorbent Assay (ELISA) and Real Time PCR in the fetal brain tissue of mice derived from the PVL model. Data analysis was carried out with a statistical program to see differences in protein content and mRNA expression of molecular protein between the control group and the treatment group with piracetam at a dose of 50-200 mg/kgBB.

The results showed that giving piracetam could function as a precautionary step to cerebral palsy in the fetus of mice born from mouse pregnant with a PVL model at a dose of 50-200 mg/kgBB. There is a significant decrease in molecular protein levels IL-6, BDNF, GLUN3A, and Calmodulin-2 (P <0.05). However, a decrease in GFAP and gelsolin protein levels does not show statistical significance (P> 0.05).

Conclusion

From the results of this study, it can be concluded that the administration of piracetam has the potential to prevent cerebral palsy in the fetus of mice born from pregnant rats with periventricular leukomalacia models. Further research is needed to deepen understanding of the mechanism of action of Piracetam and its impact on the neurological development of premature babies. This information is expected to make an important contribution in efforts to prevent and handle cerebral palsy and cognitive development problems in infants born prematurely.
