Introduction

Ischemic stroke is a clinical syndrome characterized by a rapid loss of brain function due to disorders of blood supply to the brain. This disorder is usually caused by ischemia, which is a lack of supply of glucose and oxygen due to thrombosis or embolism. In this context, the role of natural anticoagulants such as C protein, S protein, and Antitrombin III becomes very important. Although the existence and function of these three proteins is recognized in the process of controlling blood coagulation, information about their levels in cases of ischemic stroke is still minimal. Therefore, it is essential to observe the levels of C, S protein, and antithrombin III in patients before the ischemic stroke.

This study uses prospective longitudinal methods. Data is taken from 21 acute ischemic stroke patients, and sampling is carried out on days 1, 3, and 7. Measurement of protein levels C, protein S, and antithrombin III using A4 coatron tools, with chromogenic assay techniques for C and antithrombin III protein, and Clotting Assay for S protein.

Research Results

Of the 21 patients who participated, there were 12 male patients (57.1%) and 9 female patients (42.9%). The results of the analysis using the repeated anova test and the friedman test showed the absence of a significant difference in the level of C, S, and antithrombin III protein levels on the 1st, 3rd, and 7th day. The correlation test showed that each C protein, S protein, and antithrombin III have a significant positive relationship. However, between C protein and S protein and between C protein and antithrombin III do not show significant correlation, as well as S and antithrombin III protein.

Conclusion

Average levels of protein C, protein S, and antithrombin III do not show significant differences on days 1, 3, and 7. This shows that measurement of levels of these three proteins in a short time may not provide an accurate picture of the condition of the coagulation of stroke patients ischemic. This study recommends that sampling be carried out with a longer time span to obtain more valid and relevant data.
