Excellent Service to Consumer Satisfaction: A Correlational Study of Excellent Service at the Samsat Office in the Perspective of Organizational Communication on Consumer Satisfaction at the South Medan Samsat Office

Introduction

In today's highly competitive market, excellent service is one of the key factors that determines customer satisfaction. The South Medan Samsat Office, as a government institution, plays a crucial role in providing services to the community, including vehicle registration and payment of motor vehicle taxes. However, the quality of service provided by the Samsat office has been a concern for many consumers. This study aims to investigate the relationship between excellent service and consumer satisfaction at the South Medan Samsat Office using the theory of organizational communication.

The Importance of Excellent Service

Excellent service is a critical component of organizational communication that can significantly impact consumer satisfaction. According to the theory of organizational communication, excellent service is a key factor in building trust and loyalty among consumers. Research Methodology

This study uses a correlational approach to investigate the relationship between excellent service and consumer satisfaction at the South Medan Samsat Office. The study population consists of 350 consumers who have visited the Samsat office for vehicle registration and payment of motor vehicle taxes. A sample of 78 people was selected using the Taro Yamane formula. The sampling technique used is purposive sampling and accidental sampling.

Data was collected through questionnaires and library research. The data analysis techniques applied include a single table analysis, cross table analysis, and hypothesis testing using the Spearman's RHO Rank-Order Correlation formula. To measure the level of relationship between the two variables, the Guilford scale is used.

Results and Analysis

The analysis of the data conducted reveals that there is an influence of excellent service on consumer satisfaction at the South Medan Samsat Office. Although the relationship that exists is relatively low, it is significant. This shows that although the services provided are not always perfect, this factor still has an impact on the level of customer satisfaction that visits the Samsat office.

Consumer satisfaction is a key element in maintaining loyalty and maintaining the positive image of an institution. In this context, excellent service at the Samsat office can include various aspects, such as the speed of service, attitudes of officers, and ease of access to information. This study confirms that improving service quality can contribute to increasing customer satisfaction, even though the relationship is moderate.

Implications for Practice

Based on these findings, the South Medan Samsat Office is advised to continue to improve the quality of services provided to consumers. This can be done through officers' training, improvement of service procedures, and more transparent information systems. By improving services, it is hoped that customer satisfaction will also increase, so that it can build better trust and loyalty among the community.

Conclusion

This study shows that excellent service has a significant influence on consumer satisfaction at the South Medan Samsat Office. Although the relationship is relatively low, efforts to improve service quality still need to be done to achieve higher customer satisfaction. With a focus on good service, the Samsat office can improve its image and provide more satisfying experience for consumers.

Recommendations for Future Research

This study provides a foundation for future research on the relationship between excellent service and consumer satisfaction. Future studies can investigate the impact of excellent service on consumer satisfaction in other government institutions or private organizations.
