Introduction

The Indonesian economy is heavily reliant on the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) sector, which plays a vital role in creating employment and driving national economic growth. This study aims to analyze the impact of banking credit on the development of Muslim MSMEs in Medan City, with a focus on income, labor, and MSME production.

Background

The MSME sector is a significant contributor to the Indonesian economy, accounting for a substantial portion of the country's GDP. However, the sector faces numerous challenges, including limited access to capital, which hinders its growth and development. Banking loans are one of the primary sources of capital for MSMEs, enabling them to expand their businesses, increase production, and hire more labor. In this context, the bank acts as a strategic partner, providing MSMEs with access to funds that were previously difficult to obtain.

Methodology

This study employed a mixed-methods approach, combining primary data collected through field surveys with statistical analysis using the SPSS program. The research sample consisted of 32 respondents, selected using the incidental sampling technique. The data were analyzed using a normality test, paired sample t-test, and Wilcoxon signed rank test to test the hypothesis. The results showed significant differences in income, labor, and MSME production after the respondents received credit from the bank.

Results

The analysis revealed a positive relationship between bank loans and the development of MSMEs in Medan. The p-value for the three variables (income, labor, and MSME production) was below the critical limit of 0.05, indicating significant results. The calculated z-value also showed significant results, confirming the positive impact of banking credit on the development of MSMEs.
