This study aims to investigate the effect of work stress on the performance of nurses in the inpatient room of Tanjung Pura Regional Hospital. Background

Nursing services in hospitals are an integral part of the healthcare system, and nurses have the responsibility to provide care to patients 24 hours a day. High job demands can be a factor causing stress, which can affect not only the mental and physical health of nurses but also the quality of services provided to patients. Methodology

This study used a survey method with an explanatory research design to identify the effect of work stress on the performance of nurses in the inpatient room of Tanjung Pura Regional Hospital. The population used as the object of research was 63 nurses who work in the inpatient room. Given the relatively small population, the entire population was used as a research sample. Data was collected through in-depth interviews and reports taken from the hospital. Data analysis was carried out using a linear regression statistical test.

Results

The results showed that 77.8% of nurses had moderate performance, 14.3% had good performance, and 7.9% had not good performance. From the data analysis, it was found that the work stress variable had a significant effect on the performance of nurses, with the value of P = 0.00001. This shows a strong relationship between the stress levels experienced by nurses and performance.

Discussion

The results of this study indicate that work stress has a significant effect on the performance of nurses in the inpatient room of Tanjung Pura Regional Hospital. The study highlights the importance of attention to the working conditions of nurses, including providing stress management training, increasing social support at work, and adjusting workloads.
