The Effect of Organizational Welfare and Communication Program on Employee Work Morale (Study at PT. Permata Hijau Sawit Medan)

In today's fast-paced and competitive business world, maintaining a high level of employee morale is crucial for the success of any organization. PT. Permata Hijau Sawit Medan, a leading company in the industry, recognizes the importance of employee morale in driving business progress. Two key factors that significantly impact employee morale are the welfare program and organizational communication. When employees feel valued and supported, they tend to be more responsible, loyal, and actively involved in the company's growth.

This study aims to investigate the effect of the organizational welfare and communication program on employee morale at PT. Permata Hijau Palm Medan. The research was conducted using a quantitative approach, employing the association method to analyze the relationship between the welfare program, organizational communication, and employee morale. A saturated sampling technique was used to select 40 respondents as samples, who were then administered questionnaires to collect primary data. Secondary data were obtained through a literature study.

Several data analysis methods were employed in this study, including:

Testing validity and reliability: To ensure the accuracy and consistency of the data collected.
Classical assumption testing: To verify the assumptions of the multiple linear regression analysis.
Multiple linear regression analysis: To examine the relationship between the welfare program, organizational communication, and employee morale.
Hypothesis testing: To test the significance of the relationship between the independent variables and employee morale.

The results of this study showed that the Welfare Program Variable (X1) and Organizational Communication (X2) significantly affect employee morale (Y). The coefficient of determination (R) was found to be 0.955, indicating a very close relationship between the two independent variables and employee morale. This suggests that both the welfare program and organizational communication contribute greatly to increasing employee morale.

Furthermore, the R Square value revealed that the welfare and communication program of the organization contributed 91.2% of employee morale, while the other 8.8% was influenced by other variables not discussed in this study. This highlights the importance of investing in a good welfare and communication program to positively impact employee morale, which in turn can increase employee productivity and involvement.

Based on the findings of this study, it can be concluded that PT. Permata Hijau Sawit Medan needs to continue to develop and improve the welfare and communication programs within the organization. Increasing investment in these two aspects will not only boost employee morale but also contribute to the company's overall success. Therefore, it is essential for management to review and renew existing programs to remain relevant and meet the needs of employees, creating a positive and productive work environment.

Based on the results of this study, the following recommendations are made:

Develop and improve the welfare program: PT. Permata Hijau Sawit Medan should continue to invest in a comprehensive welfare program that addresses the physical, emotional, and financial well-being of employees.
Enhance organizational communication: The company should prioritize effective communication among employees, management, and stakeholders to foster a sense of belonging and encourage open dialogue.
Monitor and evaluate employee morale: Regular assessments of employee morale should be conducted to identify areas for improvement and track the effectiveness of the welfare and communication programs.
