The results of the analysis show that the maximum methyl ether cardanil proportion is obtained in the condition of the molar of cardanol: methyl iodide (1: 3), K2CO3 17.3 g, acetone 50 ml, with a reflux time of 8 hours. This study demonstrates that the reflux time has a significant effect on the results of cardanil methyl ether synthesis, and an optimal reflux time of 8 hours is required to produce maximum methyl ether proportion.

Conclusion

This study provides important information for the optimization of the cardanil methyl ether synthesis process by utilizing natural resources, namely cashew seed skin. The results show that the reflux time has a significant effect on the yield of kardanil methyl ether, and an optimal reflux time of 8 hours is required to produce maximum methyl ether proportion. The development of cardanil methyl ether synthesis with optimal reflux time can increase the efficiency of the production process and provide added value to the utilization of cashew seed skin as a source of industrial raw materials.
