In this qualitative study, we aim to explore the factors that can be related to the potential for work accidents in Pandu when guiding commercial ships.

Background

The port services industry is a high-risk sector, with workers exposed to various hazards, including physical and environmental factors. Pandu, who are responsible for guiding commercial ships, are particularly vulnerable to work accidents due to the demanding nature of their job. The selection of informants for this study was carried out using nonprobability sampling techniques, involving three ships. Data collection methods included in-depth semi-structured interviews.
