Introduction

Background

Balimbingan Hospital, like many other healthcare institutions, faces numerous challenges in its effort to transform into a profit-oriented hospital. One of the significant challenges is the performance of nurses, which has not met the expected standards. To address this issue, the hospital has implemented a series of company values, including professionalism, respect, innovation, discipline, and excellence. These values are expected to shape the behavior of nurses and contribute to improved performance.

Methodology

This study employed an explanatory survey design, where the population studied was the same as the sample, namely all nurses in the inpatient room totaling 72 people. Data was collected through a questionnaire and analyzed using multiple logistics regression. The study aimed to examine the effect of company values on the performance of nurses in the inpatient room of Balimbingan Hospital in 2014.

Results

The results of this study showed that there was a significant influence between company values - professionalism, respect, innovation, discipline, and excellence - on the performance of the inpatient room nurses in the Balimbingan Hospital of PTPN IV. Among these values, innovation appeared as the most dominant variable. This finding suggests that innovation plays a crucial role in shaping the behavior of nurses and contributing to improved performance.

Discussion

The results of this study have significant implications for hospital management. Firstly, the study highlights the importance of supervision and granting appreciation for nurses. By providing systematic guidance and recognizing the efforts of nurses, hospital management can stimulate creativity and innovation, leading to improved performance. Recommendations

Utilizing innovation as the main driver will be very important, especially in the midst of rigorous competition between hospitals.
Creating a Work Environment: Efforts to create a work environment that supports innovation and appreciation for good performance will have a positive impact not only for nurses but also for all institutions and patients served.

This study has several limitations that should be acknowledged. Firstly, the study was conducted in a single hospital, which may limit the generalizability of the findings. Secondly, the study relied on a questionnaire as the primary data collection method, which may be subject to biases and limitations.
