This study was conducted by taking water samples in four locations along the Rampah River, namely in Senayan Village (before the Factory Waste Flow I), Senayan Village (after Factory Waste Flow I), Firdaus Village (after Factory Waste Flow I and II), and Firdaus Village (after the flow of factory waste I, II, and III). The Biological Method used in this study includes analysis of:

Population density: The number of individuals per unit area.
Relative density: The ratio of the number of individuals to the total area.
Diversity index (diversity): A measure of the variety of species present in a given area.
Equitability Index: A measure of the evenness of species distribution.
Equality Index (Similarity Sorensen): A measure of the similarity between two communities.
Frequency of attendance: The number of times a species is present in a given area.

Meanwhile, Physics-Chemical parameters measured include:

Air temperature
Brightness
Current speed
River width
River depth
pH
DO (Dissolved Oxygen)
BOD (Biochemical Oxygen Demand)
COD (Chemical Oxygen Demand)
TSS (Total Suspended Solids)
CN (Chemical Nitrogen)

Results

The results showed that biologically, all locations studied showed the level of pollution. Location I (before factory waste flow I) and location II (after factory waste flow I) were classified as Light Cemar, indicating a moderate level of pollution. Location III (after the flow of factory waste I and II) was classified as Light Cemar, while location IV (after the flow of factory waste I, II, and III) was classified as Moderate Fur, indicating a higher level of pollution.

Chemical method (Storet) used as a comparison showed different results. Location I was declared not polluted (under the quality standard of PP No: 82 of 2001), while locations II and III were classified as Light Bumur, indicating a moderate level of pollution. Location IV was classified as Medium Book, indicating a higher level of pollution.

Discussion

The difference in results between biological and chemical methods highlights the importance of using a multidisciplinary approach in water quality analysis.
