Research Methodology

This study uses an integrated randomized block design (RBD). Five varieties of upland rice studied include Situ Bagendit, Situ Patenggang, Towuti, Batutegi, and Cirata. Each treatment is repeated three times to get more accurate data. The data obtained was then analyzed using variant analysis (ANOVA), followed by the Duncan Multiple Test (DMRT) test to determine differences between treatments.

However, the interaction between the spacing and varieties does not show a significant difference in the dry weight and the number of empty grains. This finding shows that the spacing specifications can not always work together with certain rice varieties, which ultimately affect the whole productivity of plants.
