Introduction

The palm oil industry has been a significant contributor to the economy of Labuhan Batu Regency in Indonesia. However, the labor practices and productivity of people's palm oil plantations and PTPN III have been a subject of concern. A study conducted by Tampubolon, titled "Analysis of Manpower in People's Palm Oil Plantation and PTPN III in Labuhan Batu Regency," aimed to compare the labor and productivity of these two types of plantations. This research was guided by Ir. Hasudungan Butar-Butar, MSi and HM Mozart B. Darus, MSc.

Research Purposes

The main objectives of this study were to:

Analyze the difference in labor outpouring absorbed by people's oil palm plantations compared to PTPN III Kebun Aek Nabara Selatan. This objective aimed to understand the labor dynamics and management practices of both types of plantations.
Identify differences in land productivity between the two types of plantations. This objective aimed to compare the agricultural output and efficiency of people's oil palm plantations and PTPN III.
Evaluate the differences in the productivity of the workforce involved in each plantation. This objective aimed to understand the impact of labor management practices on productivity.
Analyze the difference in the receipt of farming between people's oil palm plantations and PTPN III Kebun Aek Nabara Selatan. This objective aimed to compare the revenue and market guarantees offered by both types of plantations.
Understand the difference in income received by the workforce in both types of plantations. This objective aimed to understand the economic benefits and challenges faced by workers in both types of plantations.

Analysis Method

The study employed a descriptive analysis with simple tabulation to provide a clear and measurable picture of the state of labor and productivity in the field. The T test was also applied to determine whether there was a significant difference between the average statistics of the two plantation categories.
