Introduction

A total of 100 farmers were selected using simple random sampling, and data was collected through primary and secondary sources. The COBB Douglas production function was used to analyze the data.

Factors that Influence the Productivity of Coffee Farming

Several socioeconomic factors were found to affect the productivity of coffee farming in Bandar Huta Usang Village, Dairi Regency. These factors include:

Farming Experience: Farmers with longer farming experience tend to have higher productivity, indicating that experience provides better knowledge and skills in managing coffee plants.
Labor Outpouring: The more labor is poured out in the coffee cultivation process, the higher the productivity produced.
Chemical Fertilizer: The use of the right chemical fertilizer can increase coffee yields.
Organic Fertilizer: Organic fertilizer also plays an important role in increasing productivity by improving soil structure and providing the nutrients needed by plants.
Number of Trees: The more coffee trees planted, the higher the potential of the harvest produced.

However, several factors were found to have no significant effect on the productivity of coffee farming, including:

Farmers' Age: Farmers' age does not show a significant relationship with the level of productivity.
Long Formal Education: The level of formal education also has no significant influence on productivity.
Number of Family Members: The number of family members does not show a significant effect on productivity.
Pesticides: The use of pesticides in this study did not show a significant effect on the productivity of coffee farming.

Factors that Affect Coffee Farming Income

Socioeconomic factors that influence coffee farming income in Bandar Huta Usang Village, Dairi Regency, are almost the same as factors that influence productivity, including:

Farming Experience: Longer experience, as explained earlier, has a positive impact on productivity, and ultimately also has a positive impact on income.
Labor Outpouring: The more workers are poured out, the higher the productivity and income potential.
Chemical Fertilizer: The use of the right chemical fertilizer increases yields, which ultimately increase income.
Organic Fertilizer: Organic fertilizer plays a role in improving the quality and yields, which in turn also increase income.
Number of Trees: The more coffee trees, the greater the potential of the harvest and income.

Factors that do not have a significant effect on coffee farming income are:

Conclusion

This study shows that socioeconomic factors such as farming experience, labor outpouring, the use of chemical and organic fertilizers, and the number of trees have a significant influence on the productivity and income of coffee farming in Bandar Huta Usang Village, Dairi Regency. The results of this study can be taken into consideration for stakeholders in formulating strategies and programs to increase the productivity and income of coffee farmers in the region.

Based on the findings of this study, several strategies can be implemented to increase the productivity and income of coffee farmers in Bandar Huta Usang Village, Dairi Regency. These strategies include:

Training and Development: Providing training and development to farmers to increase their knowledge and skills in coffee cultivation.
Increasing Access to Input: Increasing farmers' access to production inputs such as fertilizers, pesticides, and quality seeds.
