The Influence of Islamic Law and Education in the Family on Risk Behavior in Students of SMA Negeri 2 Peusangan Matangglumpang Dua, Bireuen Regency in 2012

Introduction

The issue of risk behavior among adolescents is a pressing concern in many parts of the world, including Indonesia. Free sexual behavior can lead to various problems, including sexually transmitted diseases such as syphilis, gonorrhea, genital herpes, and AIDS. In this context, the role of Islamic law and education in the family becomes crucial in shaping adolescent sexual behavior. This study aims to examine the relationship between adolescent knowledge about Islamic Sharia law regarding sexual behavior, the influence of education in the family, and risk behavior on students of SMA Negeri 2 Peusangan Matangglumpang Dua, Bireuen Regency in 2012.

Methodology

This study uses a cross-sectional design by analyzing data from 90 class XII high school students who are randomly selected from the 320 student population. Data was collected for eight months, from May to December 2012. Data analysis was carried out using the Chi-Square test and multiple logistics regression.

Results

The results of this study indicate that knowledge about Islamic law is a dominant factor that affects risk behavior in students. The subject knowledge variable has a percentage correct value of 72.73%, while the remaining 27.26% is influenced by other factors.

Further analysis reveals that several factors contribute to the influence of Islamic law and education in the family on risk behavior in students. These factors include:

Based on the findings of this study, several recommendations are made to improve the influence of Islamic law and education in the family on risk behavior in students:

Improvement of Religious Education

Improving the quality of religious education in schools and families needs to be done by emphasizing understanding of Islamic Sharia law related to sexual behavior and the consequences of risky sexual behavior.

Improvement of the Communication of Parents and Children

Parents need to create an open and comfortable atmosphere for adolescents to discuss sexuality, so that adolescents can get true information and build positive attitudes towards sexuality.

Increasing the Role of the Wilayatul Hisbah Institute

The Wilayatul Hisbah Institute can play an active role in evaluating and revitalizing the implementation of Islamic Sharia in Aceh, as well as applying effective sanctions to foster awareness and compliance with Islamic law among adolescents.

Conclusion

This study highlights the importance of the role of Islamic law and education in the family in preventing risky sexual behavior in adolescents. However, further efforts are needed to increase adolescent understanding of Islamic law and build open communication between teenagers and parents. The active role of the Wilayatul Hisbah institution is also very important in encouraging the application of Islamic law in Aceh.
