The variables recorded and analyzed included age, sex, type of denture used, age of denture, frequency of cleaning dentures, length of time used, and the presence of systemic diseases. The classification of lesions type based on Newton's classification was also part of this analysis. The univariate analysis method was used to calculate the distribution and frequency, and the results were presented in the form of percentage.

Results

The results of this study showed that the highest frequency of patients with denture stomatitis was in the age group 51-60 years, with a percentage of 45.1%. The majority of patients with female sex (85%), and 59.4% of them were Full Bite Users (GTP). Another interesting finding was that 52.6% of respondents used dentures for more than 5 years, while 32.3% of them only cleaned their dentures once a day. The use of dentures for more than 16 hours a day was also quite significant, reaching 94%. Regarding systemic disease, 65.4% of respondents did not have this condition, and 24.1% used non-fitting dentures. Most of the dentures were made in dental practice, with a figure of 46.6%. The most common type of denture stomatitis was types I and II, with a percentage of 48.9%.

The findings of this study have important implications for dentistry practices, especially in the management and care of patients with denture users. Education about the cleanliness of dentures and preventive interventions can help reduce the risk of denture stomatitis.
