Introduction

In today's competitive business landscape, employee satisfaction has become a crucial factor in determining the success of an organization. PT Perkebunan Nusantara III Medan, a leading company in the palm oil industry, has been striving to improve employee satisfaction and motivation. This study aims to investigate the impact of career motivation and development on employee job satisfaction at PT Perkebunan Nusantara III Medan. By understanding the relationship between these factors, the company can develop effective strategies to enhance employee satisfaction and ultimately drive business success.

Methodology

This study employed an associative approach, involving all employees at the PTPN III Directors' Office, totaling 679 people in January 2023. A random sample of 252 employees was selected, and data was collected through a questionnaire. The data analysis used multiple linear regression with a significance level of α = 5% (0.05) through the SPSS program.

Results

The results of this study revealed that motivation has a positive and significant influence on employee job satisfaction. An increase in one unit in motivational variables directly will increase job satisfaction. This can be seen from the T-count value of 11,164 with a significance value of 0.00, smaller than 0.05. Similarly, career development also has a positive and significant influence on job satisfaction. An increase in one unit in career development variables will have an impact on increasing job satisfaction. The T-count value is 15.177 with a significance value of 0.00, smaller than 0.05, emphasizing this.
