Introduction

The North Sumatra State Islamic University Library (UINSU) has been utilizing Gamatechno software to provide a more efficient and user-friendly experience for its students. This study aims to evaluate the application of Gamatechno software in the UINSU library in terms of user comfort. By using descriptive methods and qualitative approaches, this research refers to six characteristics of usability, namely suitability, recognition, ease of learning, ease of operation, protection of user errors, aesthetic interfaces, and accessibility. Involving nine informants, namely the Head of the UINSU Library and eight UINSU students, this study used data collection techniques through observations and interviews.

The results showed that the application of Gamatechno software in the UINSU library meets aspects of ease of use. Based on interviews with respondents, it is known that users generally understand how to use the UINSU library website in the information search process. However, there are several obstacles experienced by some students when accessing an electronic journal database, because they do not know how to access journals that have been subscribed by the library.
